Application SE/06/01527/WTPO
Location Ryewell House, Ryewell Hill, Chiddingstone Hoath. TN8 7BN
Description Various tree works to three oak trees
Recommendation No objection.

Application SE/06/1536/FUL
Location The Old Sawmill, Hill Hoath Road, Chiddingstone. TN8 7AB
Description Conversion to residential.
Recommendation Chiddingstone Parish Council objects to the above planning application.
The site is in the Green Belt and although it used to be just outside the Conservation Area, the Chiddingstone Conservation Area Appraisal dated March 2003 recommended that the Conservation Area be extended to include this area. The site is in close proximity to Chiddingstone Castle. The Parish Council objects to this application as it does not support Green Belt policy GB3A, which states that properties for conversion must be of permanent and substantial construction and be capable of conversion without major or complete re-construction. The application is also against Conservation Area policy EN23, which states that properties for development or re-development within or affecting Conservation Areas should be of positive architectural benefit. The current building is not worthy of retention and, if developed, the dwelling would not add any benefit to the surrounding area.

Application SE/06/01441/FUL
Location Land east of Village Pond, Chiddingstone Causeway, TN11 8JN
Description Erection of ten residential dwellings with access road, car parking and landscaping
Recommendation Chiddingstone Parish Council wholeheartedly supports this application for ten units of affordable housing. Soaring house prices locally has created a real need for affordable housing. There has been a very favourable response to the scheme and much interest in the availability of the units. The only comment is on rainwater and sewage – it is essential that consideration is given to an adequate sewage infrastructure and also to the handling of excess surface water, as the existing pond is already to over-capacity
