Age UK operates a minibus service to older residents to and from the Day Centre in Edenbridge. We collect residents from all the local villages surrounding Edenbridge and from the town area as well.

The Day Centre provides much needed services, such as chiropody, day care and activities for older people.

Compaid – Kent Karrier – 01892-722297
Kent Karrier will pick-up residents from their homes and take them to a nearby town for their shopping and other essentials, as follows:

  • Every Tuesday, collect from Chiddingstone, Chiddingstone Causeway and Leigh and travel to Tonbridge.
  • Every Thursday, collect from Cowden, Penshurst and Fordcombe and travel to Tunbridge Wells.
  • Every Tuesday and Friday, collect from Hever and Edenbridge and travel to Edenbridge and Sevenoaks.

To qualify for this service, residents must be disabled or otherwise medically unable to access public transport, or live in a rural area more than 500 metres from public transport. Residents will need to complete a simple application form and pay a £5 annual membership fee, and then just £3.10 per return journey. For an application form, please phone 01622-605349.

Edenbridge Voluntary Transport Service - 01732-865353
We are based at Edenbridge Hospital and provide transport using friendly, local, volunteer drivers for people to attend medical appointments. We collect residents registered with the Edenbridge Doctors’ Surgery who do not have transport of their own and cannot use public transport. Please phone to book the service.

Stangrove Area Community Action Group - 07962-166500
We are a Registered Charity and are a non profit making organisation, based in Edenbridge but cover all the surrounding villages as well. We are happy to passenger any Adult as well as OAPs to help to fill the mini-buses and give the local people more of an opportunity to get out of the villages for shopping and clubs etc.

We have two minibuses, which hold 16 passengers each. Here are our scheduled trips:

  • Tuesday morning shopping trip to Morrisons, Oxted
  • Tuesday afternoon trip to OAP club, Edenbridge
  • Thursday morning shopping trip to Co-op, Edenbridge
  • Thursday afternoon trip to OAP club, Edenbridge
  • Thursday afternoon OAP trip to Edenbridge Fellowship Church
  • Friday morning shopping trip to Morrisons, Oxted.
  • Every last Thursday of the Month Community Link Trip to Edenbridge Hospital 7.30pm - 9pm
  • Every two months shopping trip to Crawley centre

Voluntary Action Within Kent (VAWK) - 01732 469000
Dial 2 Drive is a Community Transport Scheme for people unable to access public transport due to older age, illness or disability. As a member you can access:

  •  transport to and from medical and social appointments (doctors, chiropody, lunch clubs etc)
  • shopping with you or for you
  • prescription collection
  • help with letter writing or form filling, computers and technology
  •  social trips

Trained, CRB checked, volunteers use their own cars and will wait for up to an hour for you at appointments before taking you home again.   Accessible minibuses will carry out shopping trips and social trips. Membership and mileage is charged.
